Crossing Borders, 2010

The video Crossing Borders is about aerial surveillance drones. It shows how anyone can build and operate a drone similar to those deployed by military and police forces, without any previous knowledge of flying or radio technology. Two radio programs by Eiebakke are based on short texts about Murcia and Melilla, and our understanding of current society, based on our shaky concepts of history.

Anders Eiebakke

1970, lives and works in Oslo. Anders Eiebakke is an artist working with drawing and video, and a writer. Previously, Eiebakke ran the Samtidskunstforum gallery in Oslo, edited the magazine Kunstinnsikt and was chairman of the Young Artists Society in Norway, as well as working as both an art critic and curator. After breaking with relational aesthetics in 2001, he has focused on combining traditional craftsmanship with new technology and radical political analysis. Eiebakke has spent the past three years researching the intricacies of aerial surveillance systems, developing and piloting small drones which can fly via the use of video goggles and GPS systems.
