Oscar Abril Ascaso is a cultural producer. Exhibitions curator, artist, musician and audiovisual producer, has a professional experience of twenty-years, always around: performance, sound art, new media, music, theatre and cultural critics. In recent years, the fruits of his research have been focused on analyzing the application of Information and Communication Technologies in the creation and contemporary thought, the emergence of free culture and development of territory of the performing contemporary practices. He was co-director of the Zeppelin Sound Art Festival, founder member of the association of promotion of action art Club7 and curator of the Audio programming at the Centre d¿Art SantaMònica of Barcelona. He has directed, together with the group Elastic, the CopyFight congress about free culture and copyright and developed the thesis, together with Jose Luis de Vicente, Atlas of Cultural Operating Systems in respect of new formats for research and contemporary cultural production. Since 1997, he is exhibitions curator and responsible of the Festival of Advanced Music and Multimedia Art Sónar in Barcelona. He is currently member of the cultural research and innovation team ZZZinc and curator of the ¿Fábrica de Creación de Artes en Vivo L¿Estruch of Sabadell¿.
