The Manifesta 8 Education Department presents: Manifesta Day, 30th of October, Cartagena
Join us for a day full of activities centered around the various exhibitions of Manifesta 8 in Cartagena. The day will start with a breakfast at the seafront and will end with a concert in the former prison of San Antón. The activities and workshops during the Manifesta Days are for the whole family. Our team of Art Mediators will guide you and help you to understand and engage with the artworks and exhibitions.
10:30 Morning Meeting
Start your day with a nice cup of coffee offered by Cafés Salzillo. Meet our team and plan your day and activities.

11:00 - 13:30 Workshop: Postcards from Cartagena
Tell us your stories about the city, participate in making a large mural on Cartagena. Together we'll make a great postcard from Cartagena to send to ....

12.00 - 14:00 Family Workshop: Seeing is Believing?
What do we need to do to really observe? How do we understand what we see? Do you always believe what you see? Join us for an activity for the whole family that deals with how we see and understand the world around us. Explore how senses like touch, taste, scent and hearing influence our perception and understanding of reality and how different artists approach the "visual".

18.00-20:00 Family Workshop: When images speak
What do images tell us? Which tools do they use to speak? During this workshop we will have a special look at the Manifesta exhibition in the former prison by investigating some of the images we encounter, analyze what they have to say and see how their messages change depending on the context: exhibition, advertising, newspaper, memory etc.
