Today: second session "Outsiders and Insiders""

As part of the Manifesta 8 exhibition in the former prison of San Antón, the artist Maria Ruido presents her film La memoria interior. The film is a documentary essay based on her personal experiences, the narration of her family's history and micro histories of migration.

During the exhibition Maria Ruido and the Manifesta 8 Education and Mediation Department will develop a special project called Outsiders and Insiders. The project focuses on the experiences, micro histories and the collective memory of the neighborhood of the former San Antón Prison. A neighborhood that to this day is strongly influenced by migration. Together with the people from the neighborhood Maria Ruido and the Manifesta 8 Art Mediators are going to set up a public archive of the San Antón quarter. They will collectively investigate the neighborhoods relation to the former prison and its possible futures.
