The split-screen video juxtaposes two cites: Alexandria in Egypt and Murcia in Spain. Both cities shared a close cultural history, spanning centuries when cultural prophets lived, dwelled and died. Hafez¿s video moves freely through the streets of both cities today, ancient locations where the protagonists of a shared history still live and survive. In addition, two radio programs will be broadcast during the opening weeks of Manifesta 8, featuring the lives and works of two indispensable historical philosophers and scientists, Abul Abbass al Murci, a.k.a. Al-Mursi Abu¿l-¿Abbas and Sufi Ibn Arabi. These two figures, who once lived in Murcia, traveled and disseminated their thinking throughout Western and Eastern cultures

The two radio programmes feature the life and works of two influential historical philosophers and scientists who transcend history and geography. Abul Abbass al Murci, a.k.a Al-Mursi Abu'l-'Abbas and Ibn Arabi's both lived in Murcia, travelled and disseminated their thinking through North Africa, and lead their time in knowledge and tolerance.
